RSVP for NABR's January Webinar: The Products and Services of the Animal Welfare Information Center (AWIC)
NABR members areinvited to join NABR and the AWIC team on Jan. 12, 2021 from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. EST as they discuss the products and services offered at the National Agricultural Library (NAL) and specifically the Animal Welfare Information Center (AWIC). AWIC is part of the USDA’s NAL in Beltsville, Maryland. The focus of AWIC’s information products, services, and activities is to help the regulated community with employee training and to promote the humane care and use of animals by providing information on alternatives.
One free resource AWIC is currently promoting is customizable (virtual) trainings/workshops upon request. These presentations can be developed to highlight a variety of topics that AWIC covers, such as the requirements of the Animal Welfare Act, 3Rs of Alternatives, and how to conduct a literature search.
Additional resources AWIC provides or is currently working to make available soon, including the increase discoverability of 3Rs citations; pre-recorded, self-paced online training videos; the AWIC Monthly Newsletter; and AWIC’s website resources, will also be reviewed.
