Neuralink Monkey Plays MindPong Telepathically

On April 8th, Elon Musk’s company Neuralink released a short clip demonstrating their 9-year-old macaque monkey named Pager. Pager, who has been fitted with a Neuralink brain chip. The brain implant has allowed Pager to play “MingPong” telepathically. This development demonstrates the future ability to help individuals with paralysis to use a computer or smartphone by simply imagining the hand movements they would need to operate it.

Elon Musk tweeted out "First @Neuralink product will enable someone with paralysis to use a smartphone with their mind faster than someone using thumbs”. Musk also mentions, "Later versions will be able to shunt signals from Neuralinks in brain to Neuralinks in body motor/sensory neuron clusters, thus enabling, for example, paraplegics to walk again."
