As NABR members are fully aware, the research community continues to face numerous challenges acquiring the most scientifically appropriate models for research, especially nonhuman primates.

As such, NABR engaged with the Administration to express concerns about the listing of NHPs on the China tariff schedule arguing the critical need for NHPs in COVID-19 research as well as most other areas of infectious disease research. We are pleased to report the United States Trade Representative (USTR) has notified NABR the request for exemption has been granted.
