Twelve state bar associations and the District of Columbia have animal law sections or committees (Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington, and the District of Columbia). Two are in the process of forming (Massachusetts and Oregon).
