AETA VICTORY FOR BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH!

Moments ago, the House of Representatives passed S. 3880, the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act, after the Senate passed the bill in September. This was in no small part due to the tremendous amount of outreach conducted by the biomedical research community. Since April, you sent over 10,000 letters to Congress on this issue! You made this happen, and our hats are off to you.

Thank you for being so responsive to our many requests for action. The AETA was the product of meticulous negotiations between the House and the Senate and Republicans and Democrats alike. The bill is expected to be signed by the President, and we will keep you posted as that time draws near. It is our sincere hope that this legislation will enable you to continue to work towards improving both human and animal health and saving lives!
